Virat takes that decision: Sourav Ganguly on KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant wicket-keeping debate

Former Team India skipper and current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has stated that the decision to hand KL Rahul the wicket-keeper's role, lies with Virat Kohli and the team management.

“Virat Kohli takes that decision. The team management and captain decide the role of KL Rahul,” he told ABP News when asked whether the decision had resemblance with his tactic of keeping with Dravid.

At the same time, he had words of praise for Rahul following excellent performances in white-ball cricket. Ganguly further expressed his desire to see the cricketer continuing his good work after a positive display in limited overs cricket.

“He has played well in ODIs and T20Is. He started well in Test cricket but has gone down slightly. But in limited overs cricket he has played really well and hope he continues all the good work but like I said, all these decisions are of the team management’s,” Ganguly added.

The BCCI President also refused to comment on the race for the keeper's slot with the crucial upcoming T20 World Cup, stating that the decision will be taken by the selectors, Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri.

“The selectors, Virat and Ravi will decide that. Whatever they think, it’ll happen that way,” concluded Ganguly.
