Kohli miffed as umpire misses last ball no ball

After the Ashwin-Mankad controversy, there is a new topic to debate even as Mumbai pipped Bangalore in Match 7 of the Indian T20 League, Season 12 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday.

Chasing 188, Bangalore finished with 181/5. As the players were walking back, replays on the big screen showed that Malinga had overstepped on the final ball of the Bangalore innings, which went unnoticed. Had the umpire called it, AB de Villiers 70*(41) would have been on strike for the free-hit.

Seeing the replay, Virat Kohli was furious and the crowd clearly unhappy.

"We are playing at the IPL level and not playing club cricket. The umpires should have had their eyes open. That is a ridiculous call at the last ball. If it is a game of margins, I don't know what is happening. They should have been more sharp and careful out there," said Kohli when asked about the missed no-ball.

Rohit Sharma, who finished on the winning side, too expressed his disappointment.

"I just got to know when we crossed the rope. These kind of things are not good for cricket, one of the Bumrah's deliveries wasn't a wide. Players can't do much. Very disappointed to see that."
