Bumrah 1 Kohli 0 in world's best bowler vs best batsman contest

Round 1 of the contest between the world's best bowler and best batsman ended in the former's favour with Jasprit Bumrah coming out on top. The Mumbai pace spearhead dismissed Virat Kohli for 46 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday setting the tone for this battle to look forward to this season in the Indian T20 League.

A top edge by Kohli ended in the safe hands of Hardik Pandya, allowing Bumrah to let out a roar that silenced the nearly 29,000 capacity crowd.

Once again when his team needed it, Bumrah stood up and delivered. The fast bowler banged it in short at a good pace and hurried Kohli into the pull shot, who could only manage a top edge and the ball lobbed towards mid-wicket where Hardik was waiting. That also ended a crucial partnership of 49 runs for the third wicket between Kohli and AB de Villiers in their chase of 188.

Round 1 has gone to Bumrah, lookout for Round 2 on the 15th of April at the Wankhede Stadium.
